Project Description
In the approved section of the Samstagern-Zürich transmission line route, detailed engineering is being carried out for the newly planned line segment and the construction of new steel tubular poles.
The affected overhead line section and the adjacent poles are being modeled in 3D using specialized line construction software. This model allows for precise verification of the affected line section in compliance with technical standards. Subsequently, the 3D model serves as the basis for deriving critical data required for the final pole design by the steel manufacturer and the structural engineer for foundation design.
Key Aspects of the Project:
- Approved Section for New Construction:
The project focuses on an approved section for the construction of a new transmission line between Samstagern and Zurich. - Detailed Engineering:
The detailed engineering phase includes the technical design and dimensioning of the new steel tubular poles for the planned 220 kV line. - 3D Modeling:
A central component of the project is the 3D modeling of the poles and the adjacent overhead line section, providing a comprehensive and precise representation of the planned structures. - Verification According to Technical Standards:
The 3D model enables the new transmission line system to be verified according to recognized technical standards, ensuring compliance with current regulations and norms. - Basis for Dimensioning:
The 3D model provides critical data, such as force exports, necessary for pole design by the steel manufacturer and foundation design by the structural engineer. - Civil Engineering:
The data derived from the 3D model allows the civil engineer to precisely design the foundations required for the steel tubular poles. - Quality Assurance:
Rigorous quality assurance measures are implemented throughout the process to ensure that both the 3D model and the derived design data meet the highest standards. - Efficiency and Resource Management:
The project emphasizes efficient resource utilization to achieve time and cost objectives without compromising quality. - Documentation and Reporting:
Comprehensive documentation of the entire process, along with regular reporting to all stakeholders, ensures transparency and effective communication throughout the project.
In this project, FGS is working on behalf of AFRY Switzerland AG, handling 3D planning and modeling of the overhead line, project engineering, and supporting and coordinating sub-planning services.
