Project Description:

As part of the construction of a new freight overtaking track in the Pfäffikon area, Canton of Schwyz, the relocation of the existing 132-kV transmission line Etzelwerk-Rapperswil over a section of approximately 1.2 km is required. This measure is necessary to accommodate the needs of the freight overtaking track and to ensure the safe and efficient integration of infrastructures.

Key Aspects of the Project:

  1. Relocation of 7 Towers:
Seven existing concrete towers of the high-voltage overhead line need to be relocated due to the construction of the freight overtaking track. The new positions are determined with consideration of the local freight rail infrastructure.
  2. Adaptation to Freight Rail Infrastructure:
The relocation of the transmission line is executed with careful attention to the specific conditions of the freight rail system. The highest safety standards are applied for work in proximity to the rail area.
  3. Coordination with Authorities and Stakeholders:
Close collaboration with the responsible authorities to obtain the necessary permits for the transmission line relocation. Coordination with local stakeholders and project participants.
  4. Ensuring Grid Stability:
During the relocation work, measures are taken to maintain grid stability. Necessary protective measures and temporary solutions are implemented.
  5. Environmental Compatibility:
Minimization of environmental impact through prudent planning and careful coordination with all stakeholders. Compliance with environmental protection regulations and sustainable practices.

Role of FGS:

In this project, Future Grid Solutions is commissioned by AFRY Switzerland AG to handle the areas of planning, preparation of tender documents, coordination of construction preparation, and senior construction management.
